What we’re looking for…
  • A Digital Marketer with a real depth and breadth of knowledge in advertising solutions
  • Probably 10 years ++ in digital
  • Strategic thinker
  • With B2C experience   
  • High level business acumen, responsible for driving business results and sales outcomes
  • P&L / budget experience would be great but if you don’t have actual P&L, don’t worry too much as long as you have a high level of business acumen and have the pace to work in a commercial business
  • Excellent relationship management and leadership skills
  • Great stakeholder manager and an influencer of change

A bit more about the job …

  • Firstly, you will assess the business and the skills and experience in the teams, to make sure you have the right capabilities to drive new digital initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Commercial Director and Sales Director to develop and implement new advertising solutions which will be in line with the strategic business objectives.
  • Work with your teams to identify new business opportunities.
  • Create inspirational cross-platform solutions.
  • Ensure advertising initiatives are designed to maximise multiple platform and vertical sales opportunities.
  • Develop category strategies, business plans and initiatives that best service the needs, interests and opportunities of customers.
  • Educate the sales teams and help drive sales initiatives so they can work more strategically with their clients to meet short and long term business objectives, increasing profit and market share.
  • Inspire and take responsibility for product training across the business.
  • Build relationships with publishers, editorial, marketing, research to ensure commercial opportunities are identified.
  • Create a culture of inspiration, collaboration with the consumer always at the centre of mind.

So it’s a great role with a mix of strategy, marketing and creativity coupled with commercial outcomes.  It’s not a sales job but you do need a high level of business acumen as the creation and implementation of the integrated marketing solutions ultimately drive revenues.

You will be either sitting in an agency in charge of digital strategy or in a media business in a similar role.
What you do need to have is the experience and capability to create new digital product and online marketing strategies with the ability to inspire, educate and influence the many levels of stakeholders.  The culture is fast paced, collaborative and  you’ll be working with some exceptionally smart people - the boss is great by the way!
