FREE EVENT - Up Close and Digital 9. July 2009 Bec Events (0) PEAKERS: Dr Ruth Harley (CEO, Screen Australia), Veronica Gleeson (Development Manager, Screen Australia), Tania Chambers (CEO, NSWFTO), Martin Williams (Senior Development Executive, NSWFTO) and Jennifer Wilson (Director, The Project Factory) This event, held at the Australian Technology Park, focuses on Screen Australia and the NSW Film & Television Office as critical government funding bodies, both of which promote excellence and innovation in screen content and digital media. Screen Australia is the Federal Government’s new screen agency providing support to ensure sustainability within the industry and a strong Australian voice across film, tv, documentary and digital media. While NSWFTO is our local State agency about to administer a $5 million boost to the screen industry with the potential of attracting $70 million in production expenditure and the creation of over 1300 new jobs. The evening commences with Jennifer Wilson, a specialist in cross-platform, multi-media strategy and development presenting a summary of the white paper “Getting in the digital frame: a screen content producer’s guide to the digital landscape” and a discussion of issues which might hinder screen content directors and producers from getting more engaged in the digital space. This is followed by key presentations from Screen Australia and NSWFTO defining each organisation’s overall vision with regard to the digital future as well as outlining their relevant funding models and pathways. The session wraps up with a panel discussion taking questions from the audience relating to opportunities, financing, policy, technology and quality content surrounding the digital arena. Please join us afterwards for networking drinks provided by AIMIA NSW and Elcom- your partner for digital content delivery. During drinks, Elcom will demonstrate how their Web Content Management System (WCMS) can easily update content for interactive flash websites. Podcast partner for the event is Viocorp. Special thanks to Australian Technology Park Management for the venue and supporting the ADG & Interactive Media industry.
